This class will continue to develop dancing in crossed feet. Back ochos are the most common way to walk in crossed feet, however they are not the only options. We will look at other ways to walk in crossed feet. We will also develop some classic turns as we transition from crossed feet to parallel feet.
Corridas Everywhere
The corrida is a lovely musical little step, and often dancers only learn the simple corrida, however there are many interesting places to use the idea of double time walking. We will explore combinations of corridas, and even corridas in crossed feet. When we have a few corridas to play with we will use them with different orchestras and find a surprising and lovely way to interpret the music of the later 40s.

Walking in Crossed Feet
Crossed feet is the ‘other’ way of walking in tango, and is a very important element of the dance. The signature movement in crossed feet is the back ocho. A lovely movement by itself the back ocho also opens the door to a number of nice turns.
Suspension and Release
Pauses and quick time movements go well together to express the feeling of music where lyrical melody is contrasted with driving rhythm. This class will continue to explore movements that can be stretched out over multiple beats, and mixed with quick time movements. We will explore the orchestras and vocalists of the late 40s and the movement they inspire.
