Rhythmic Turns and Rhythmic Orchestras
In this class we will develop a family of rhythmic turns I call check step turns. They are dynamic, compact turns that work well on the social dance floor, including the ocho cortado and some nice variations. We will study the more rhythmic music of orchestras including Juan D’Arienzo, Edgardo Donato, and Ricardo Tanturi.
Circular Walking
This class will focus on a group of circular walking movements, both inside and outside of frame, in parallel and crossed feet. These are dynamic movements that are powerful and expressive. They are compact and energetic, they work well with many types of music. Using these steps as a framework we will continue to explore the music of different orchestras.

Ochos and Turns
This class will continue to develop dancing in crossed feet. Back ochos are the most common way to walk in crossed feet, however they are not the only options. We will look at other ways to walk in crossed feet. We will also develop some classic turns as we transition from crossed feet to parallel feet.
